Saving a Tooth from Extraction
Previously, having a damaged or infected tooth used to mean
extraction. But with modern techniques in root canal therapy
that has changed. In this procedure, a tooth is kept intact
by removing the pulp within the tooth and replacing it with
filling material. When root canals were first performed,
they were painful and as a result it was a procedure that
patients avoided. But with today’s anesthetics and
technology, they are often painless.
